Most of us can be found in one of three places: at a job or in a classroom, at home, or somewhere else doing something we love.

This third space is an ideal place where you can escape for a moment and find what gives life its color.

If you’re not sure where that is, simply ask yourself, where would I rather be right now? Can you see yourself hiking through lush forest, documenting native plants and animals? Or, are you the kind of person who just wants to keep a low profile, reading a good book in a bustling coffee shop?

Here’s a thought: your third place is somewhere overseas.

Here,

you can earn academic credits

As you plan your next course schedule, consider the fact there are opportunities to take classes in a different country. University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) offers university-level credit that can be applied towards electives, general education requirements, and even requirements for your major or minor.* Enrolling in a study abroad program lets you earn academic credit toward your degree and stay on track for graduation while you live and study overseas.

Here,

it's more affordable than you think

USAC is a nonprofit with the sole mission of helping students study abroad. We aren’t looking to sell you expensive packages. All our programs focus on creating immersive, cultural experiences with reputable academic institutions away from pricey tourist destinations.

Many of our programs are more affordable than an academic semester at an in-state university. There are national, local, and study abroad-specific scholarships available, and financial aid can frequently be used toward study abroad costs.

Use the interactive budget sheet tools online — one is assigned to each program page — to sidestep any financial surprises.
