A good grade represents a journey. Every correctly answered question is one step forward. An essay assignment is one route on the proverbial trailhead map that may take days to complete. To achieve a certification, a degree, a career path, every student has to take tens of thousands of steps, swat at a few mosquitoes, and munch on several handfuls of trail mix.
As we elevate to new goals, we come across stories about why international education matters, how the experiences abroad stay with us, and what value it brings. It's in this excitement that we are compelled to offer others this moment to rise up as well.
We are international and domestic allies for a better future. We want to see growth in our future -- together. We will cross mountains so that other's have access to the world beyond where their eyes can see.
[Study abroad] has helped shape my vision for life. ... I am more aware of the food I eat, the media I consume, and the culture I am actively a part of. Knowing that there is life beyond what I knew in the U.S., my family has now come to terms with the fact that I am a global citizen whose heart belongs to no one singular country.

Studying abroad in Maastricht was an experience I'll never forget. I had the opportunity to immerse myself into Dutch culture which gave me a different perspective to view the world. ... After finishing the program I feel more academically prepared and confident traveling by myself, if someone would ask me if I would like to study abroad again, l would definitely say, 'yes!'

My time studying abroad in Japan allowed me to connect with peers from around the world, which broadened my cultural perspective and inspired me to engage more deeply in global conversations. The diverse friendships I formed have enriched my social interactions and provided me with a more nuanced understanding of different cultures, positively influencing my academic pursuits. I learned so much more than I could have imagined from studying abroad.
